Who the CGS Contact Forum is for
Any former student or member of staff who attended Caistor Grammar School
is more than welcome to use the site. The only request made is that when
you register as a site member, you should enter the years between which
you were at Caistor Grammar. This serves two purposes, firstly so members
can be listed by year for the convenience of others, secondly so that the
site can maintain a bona fide base of members. If you would rather not list
the time during which you were at CGS, e-mail the Site Maintainer once you
have registered as a member and that information can be removed.
Caistor Grammar School Information
Caistor Grammar School was initially founded between 1661-3. The three individuals
who were foremostly involved in the founding gave their names to the 'Houses'
of the school; Ayscough, Hansard and Rawlinson; each student is a member of
one House during their time.
Before September 1991, the school was maintained by Lincolnshire County Council
as a voluntarily controlled secondary school. Between 1991 and 1998 the school
held Grant Maintained status. More recently it was reclassified as a
'Foundation School', and has returned to a closer funding arrangement with
the County Council.
